About the Place
Nestled in the heart of Alpine, Arizona, Alpine Grill & Still stands as a cozy retreat for travelers and locals alike. This rustic gem offers more than just hearty bar food—it serves a genuine mountain-town experience wrapped in warmth and charm. The name may puzzle at first, as “Still” doesn’t refer to distillation but rather hints at its welcoming bar area, where craft drinks like their signature Blue Lagoon shine. Patrons delight in the unpretentious menu featuring fresh, scratch-made dishes. Burgers, chili, and mushroom swiss sandwiches showcase carefully prepared ingredients, steering clear of anything canned or processed. The rich flavors hit the spot, especially after a long hike or a day exploring the scenic trails nearby.
The atmosphere is inviting and genuine, peppered with antiques that spark conversation and a touch of local history. Service is friendly and attentive, often run by a small but passionate team who give the place a familial feel—sometimes even with the waitress’s young son pitching in. It's a modest setting, but that adds to the charm rather than detracts from it. Entertainment like Wii bowling tournaments playing on TVs lends a playful vibe that keeps guests coming back.
Alpine Grill & Still earns its praise through a mix of its welcoming ambiance, satisfying, well-executed bar fare, and the genuine connection it fosters between patrons and staff. Whether you visit for a cold IPA after a motorcycle ride, crave crispy wings on a Sunday with the game on, or seek a comforting burger after a mountain trek, this spot feels like a hidden alpine treasure—a place where simplicity meets heart and flavor without pretense.
“ This place was pretty good. The food was ok and the prices were spot on. There was a little guy who brought us our drinks and I think he was the waitress's son. The place was nice, warm and it had a nice amount of antiques to look at. The name is a little misleading because there is no "Still"(it apparently means bar). There is a candy shop in it that has all sorts of goodies. ”
“ Neat little place. Great views. Bar food done well. Only 1 waitress taking care of whole place. She was good. But you were waiting your turn for service. ”
“ Oh man this was so good. After a 5 mile hike this HIT THE SPOT. My hubbs got the chili burger and I got the mushroom swiss and it was just what we needed. Ain't no canned mushrooms 'round here neither. The blue lagoon (signature drink) was like a nice cold popsicle. The atmosphere was really welcoming, they even had Wii bowling set up on the TVs for a tournement! So awesomeHighly reccomend when visiting the area!!! ”
“ Came in for dinner two different nights while staying up in Alpine. First night didn’t leave me with the best first impression as the kid serving our table dropped my menu, silverware, and drink in the *empty* seat diagonal from where I was sitting (there were 3 of us at a table that seats 4) not giving me a thing… strange, but maybe he was just a spacey 20 year old. No biggie. The chicken strips were what you would expect, nothing note worthy. Husband got the chicken fried steak and loved it. The second night we got great service from a gal. My husband got the chicken fried steak again and I went with the classic burger. Damn after a long day of hunting, that burger hit the spot. Excellent burger. They’re open everyday which is also a plus. ”
“ It's a small town..really small so we were surprised the food was so good. Hamburger n onion rings for me. Chopped sirloin for him..really good and the kid waiter handled the entire bar and food service ”
